Weekly Roundup

It was a good week for reading, a bad week for blog posts, click ahead to see what I’ve been reading this week and what I plan for the week upcoming.

In the last two days I finished The Mask of Mirrors by M. A. Carrick & Raven Stratagem by Yoon Ha Lee. Expect full reviews of both books this week.

I’ve picked up King’s Blood Four by Sheri S. Tepper, as part of my goal to read older fantasy books. I think I’ll start a series of ‘throwback’ reviews for anything I read that came out roughly more than 20 years ago. It’s a short book, so I’ll likely finish it before the month is over.

I also thought that I’d not read any self-published books this month (this is not technically true, I have read Divine Dungeon by Dakota Krout, which I plan to review briefly in a litrpg roundup) so I decided to pick up a current SPFBO finalist. In this case I chose Voice of War by Zack Argyle. Hopefully I can fit in one non-litrpg self published novel a month.

I’m still working on the most anticipated list, but there’s less there than I thought (I’m not as on the pulse of upcoming releases and some other people).

This week I wrote a review on the first two WandaVision episodes. I’ll not be reviewing episode by episode, but will do an overall review once the series is done.

As a new feature for this roundup, I thought I might add a photo of the top of my ever changing TBR shortlist.

There’s actually 51 books on my ‘shortlist’ but I try to keep the ones I think I want to read sooner at the very top. Note that the likelihood of me reading all or even most of these books any time soon is slim, because I adjust this list frequently as I go based on what I think I’ll feel like reading next.

Let me know if there’s any books there that you recommend!
