This week I’ve caught up on my reviews, finally gotten to my most anticipated books list, and have plenty more to come! Click on to see what I’ve been up to this week, with links to my previous posts.
I got out three reviews this week, Raven Stratagem by Yoon Ha Lee, Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick, and King’s Blood Four by Sheri S. Tepper.
I also finally finished my Top Anticipated Books of 2021 list – there’s some great books coming out this year that are worth checking out!
This week I’ve finished reading King’s Blood Four (hence the review above) and Voice of War by Zack Argyle, which I intend to review early next week.
I’ve picked up Middlegame by Seanan McGuire, and it’s got elements that I love, but also elements that drag it a little for me. I’ll hopefully finish it tomorrow, and get a review out at some point next week. I’ve also picked up Heroes Die by Matthew Woodring Driver, book one in the Acts of Caine series. So far I’m very intrigued, and I could see this being a book I like very much.
My review of The Black Coast by Mike Brooks is coming next week too, so look out for that!
Tomorrow, I’m going to be doing my first Monthly Reading Retrospective, where I have a little look at where I am in regards to my reading goals for the year, and look at any trends in my reading for the month (it will be interesting to see if there are any, since my mood reading nature requires me to shift between different sub-genres, settings and tones).
And now, my TBR shortlist! From last week’s shortlist, I have actually picked up two books! (Middlegame and Acts of Caine) That is very unlike me.

Here’s a link to my last Weekly Roundup, if you wish to compare the two. Notable additions are The Combat Codes and The Calculating Stars, both of which have moved I’m and out of my shortlist many times over the last several months. Maybe next month I’ll finally read them!
Let me know if there’s anything there you’d recommend!
